Whether it's a pint of post-work, a catch over a juice and lemon, or an unexpected adventure, the pub is where all too elusive communityis forged. And with Scotland's history of making whisky, falsifying bottles and international trade, you can find any kind of place in Edinburgh. City bars are a big part of what made me fall for it. When I moved here from New York for college, it was meant to be just for a year. But wherever I went, I kept hearing things like, Oh, everyone who comes here,and even, I came for a repealed semester, and that was 20 years ago. I answered, but I came here eight years later. For starters, it's easy to give in to an ambience known in the parallels of the extreme online as dark academy. The crows were perched on iron fences, the candles gushing out of the windows, the ghosts wandering the streets.
